As Operations Manager, Shirley is Harmonic’s leading analytical consultant and manages our highly qualified data science team. She ensures that the right resources are available to meet a client’s brief and deliver a project on time.
Shirley joined Harmonic in 2004 with a Bachelor of Science (First Class Honours) in Statistics and Mathematics, and a Business Degree in Operations Management - both from the University of Auckland. She won various student awards including Annual Best Student in Science, the New Zealand Aluminium Smelters prize for Statistics, and the Flowd’s Memorial Prize for most distinguished student in the Science Faculty.
Shirley is a highly creative and detail-oriented person with a good sense of humour and ambition for achieving excellence. These attributes and her passion for helping clients find solutions to whatever business challenges they have, have gained her a reputation for ‘getting things done’. Drawing on her analytical and scientific expertise, and extensive business experience, Shirley ‘does what it takes’ to deliver a client’s project to an exceptional standard.
She has worked closely with a diverse range of private and public sector clients including digital services company Spark New Zealand, Wellington City Council, industry training organisation BCITO, Oracle and one of New Zealand’s largest government agencies MBIE.
Beyond Harmonic, Shirley enjoys watching documentaries, keeping fit and listening to pop music. One of her personal goals is to continue playing an active and positive role in raising her super-confident daughter.
