Abstract:
R's idea of environments and closures were adopted from the Scheme programming language. In this talk I'll describe what they are and
how they are a useful part of an R programmer's toolkit.

Associate Professor Ross Ihaka has retired from academic life, the opportunity to hear his talks will become limited when he "get off the grid" in the near future.
